Action for Swifts

Afs design and manufacture a range of nest boxes and bricks, providing homes for cavity-nesting birds, suitable for any building. The AfS S Brick is a proven product that integrates a home for Swifts and other cavity-nesting birds, without compromising the integrity or appearance of the building. Experience gained in a wide range of nest boxing projects has resulted in the simple and lightweight AfS S Brick. Spanning a single course of bricks, the AfS S Brick can either be retrofitted or seamlessly installed as part of the standard building process.

Badenoch Swifts

Born out of the Kingussie Community Action Plan, Badenoch Swifts is a new project being delivered by local people to protect and grow the numbers of swifts returning each year. During 2026 we will be developing this new initiative with our first campaign to raise awareness and engage our community in looking after swift.

Inverness Bat Group

The Inverness Bat Group was formed in 1996 and exists to investigate, protect and to promote interest in these remarkable, but often misunderstood, mammals. Based throughout the Inverness area members carry out surveys, public engagement activities and educational work. We run a programme of bat walks, talks and other activities throughout the year. Supporting our communities to protect their environment, livelihoods and wellbeing from the increasing industrialisation of Loch Ness.
